this is the runner-up system for this week's design. since our previous solar tracker worked, this scheme is very similar. the improvements come from streamlining the process, making the mechanisms more efficient and allowing the wires and unattractive mechanics to be hidden underneath in some kind of "acrylic box spray painted from the back." the bio-mimicry comes from the fact that light is focused on by a pin hole system, very similar to how the human (and other animals) eye works.
like i said, this is the runner-up. the real one is much cooler.
